Looks like they had some problems with for-profit code forks. Incompatible protocols and all that, a real Unix-style mess. This guy is seriously pissed off. Corinthians II sounds exactly like one side of a flame war.
Now if they had just thought to GPL their gospel rather than using a BSD-style license they wouldn't have had any of these problems.
